Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee 2
At INC-2 in Paris, Lead for Earth represented the youth coalition on plastic pollution, advocating for a life cycle approach to tackle this global issue. Engaging in key discussions, our involvement underscores our commitment to shaping policies for a sustainable, plastic-free future.
As Lead for Earth, we proudly participated in the Second Session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee on Plastic Pollution (INC-2) in Paris. Representing the global youth coalition on plastic pollution, we focused on advocating for a comprehensive approach to tackle the entire life cycle of plastic. The session, held in the iconic UNESCO headquarters in Paris, saw over 1,700 participants, including more than 700 delegates from 169 countries and over 900 NGO observers.
Our engagement extended to active participation in critical interventions, particularly in closed group discussions. This participation is part of a series of INC sessions aimed at finalizing negotiations on plastic pollution by the end of 2024. With INC-1 in Uruguay and INC-3 in Nairobi, these sessions are pivotal in setting the agenda for subsequent meetings in 2024.
At Lead for Earth, our commitment to a plastic-free world and environmental protection remains strong as we continue to influence global policies for sustainable future solutions.
